 ELLIOTT BAY SALMON DERBY: RULES
- Ticket sales will end at 8:00am Saturday, July 24th.
- For your catch to count, all persons on board must possess a derby ticket.
- Only marked or hatchery fish will be eligible to win.
- Weigh-in hours: 10am - 2pm Saturday, July 24th, at Elliott Bay Marina N Dock.
- Salmon will be certified by derby officials. Derby officials reserve the right to clean fish and may do so on a random basis. Derby officials may disqualify any fish that has been tampered with or appears to have been tampered with. The same salmon cannot be entered more than once. The decisions of the derby officials on legality, time, and weight will be final and binding
- Fish will be weighed in the whole to determine the official weight. In the event of a tie, the time of weigh-in shall determine the winner. (Earliest time wins).
- Fishing will be allowed only in the open Inner Elliott Bay Fishery and Marine Area 9 and 10 as described in the WDFW regulation pamphlet.
- All contestants must fish in accordance with current WDFW Fishing Regulations. Any violation of WDFW
regulations will disqualify the participant with no recourse.
- Salmon must be caught between dawn and 2pm Saturday, July 24th.
- Salmon must arrive at the weigh-in station via water to qualify for weigh-in and prizes.
- Prizes will be limited to one per person.
- Prize winners need not be present to win, however it is the responsibility of the winner to pick up their prize within 30 days at Elliott Bay Marina or it will be forfeited. The derby sponsors are in no way responsible for delivery of prizes.
- The Boys and Girls Clubs of King County and derby sponsors accept no responsibility for loss, damage, injury to any boat, vehicle, equipment, contestant, passenger or observer during this event. Anyone entering the derby, or providing assistance to derby officials or contestants, agrees to hold the derby committee, sponsors, and officials, harmless for any damages or claims which may arise; and, in particular, if you choose to participate, you agree that you are responsible for your own safety.
- This derby is independent of the Northwest Marine Trade Association — which is sponsor of the Northwest Salmon Derby Series, and which is responsible for all series matters, including boat giveaways. The derby is not responsible for errors, nor for any changes that may be required due to factors beyond derby control.
- The Derby Committee shall have final word on any disputes regarding derby rules, awarding of prizes, or other derby matters.
- Contestants who observe a violation of derby rules should report it immediately to derby officials, via VHF Channel 78. Violators will not be eligible for prizes, and will be barred from future competition.
